6-STAGE OPTICAL REFURBISHMENT & VERIFICATION SOP
NEWTOOL Sp. z o.o. Standard Operating Procedure for Pre-Owned Eyewear & Vintage Sunglasses Intake.
Maker Stamping & Hardware Verification
Every vintage piece (such as Ray-Ban B&L Rochester, Persol Ratti, Cartier Paris) is examined under 40x stereomicroscopy. We verify maker hallmark engravings, bridge stamps, barrel hinge pinning integrity, and laser-etched lens watermarks.
Deep Sanitization & Particle Removal
Frames and disassembled optical hinges are placed into heated industrial ultrasonic baths (Transsonic / Bandelin Sonorex @ 40 kHz) containing pH-neutral biodegradable optical surfactant to dissolve microscopic oils, dust, and sebum from crevices.
Photometric Spectral Cutoff & Diopter Audit
All lenses are scanned using digital auto-lensmeters and UV spectrophotometers to guarantee 100% UV400 cutoff (up to 400nm) conforming to DIN EN ISO 12312-1 and ANSI Z80.3 eye protection safety standards.
Pantoscopic Tilt & Symmetrical Geometry
Optical technicians adjust bridge bridge spread, temple parallelism, and pantoscopic tilt on heated glass bead warmers. Screws and spring hinge tensions are calibrated with optical torque drivers to exact factory specifications.
Hand Buffing with Cotton Wheels & Carnauba Wax
Cellulose acetate frames receive specialized multi-step compound polishing on slow-speed muslin wheels to eliminate minor handling scuffs and restore rich luster. Wireframes and gold plating are gently buffed with jewelers rouge.
Microfiber Sleeve, Hard Case & Shockproof Box
Every verified pair is sealed into a lint-free anti-static microfiber pouch, placed inside a reinforced protective hard case, barcode labeled, and cushioned in custom corrugated shipping boxes for InPost & DPD tracked courier handling.
